Little Ivy Chapel at Fairmont Cemetery, Denver CO.
Constructed in 1890.  It is described as a 13th century Ecclesiastical
French Gothic Architecture and designed by Henry Ten Eyck Wendell.
From the gargoyles on the steeple, fleur di lis spikes on the roof, to the immense
detail everywhere, it is nothing short of magnificant.  I would have loved to
have seen the inside but it was locked.  The inside has lots of stained glass windows, and a 621 pipe, 8 rank organ.  It has been designated a Denver landmark in 1976 and
underwent an exterior repair in 1995 funded by the state historical fund.

The intricut detail in this marble work is outstanding.
It would have had to be quite a lengthy process as it's all handcarved
and dates back to  1898.
The inscription reads:
"Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day,
Earth's joys grow dim, it's glories pass away
Change and decay in all around I see,
O thou who changest not abide with me."

In front of a Denver HS, the size is massive,
there are no words to describe how large or
how beautiful.  The pic of the men below is on the adjacent pillar.

Caden is ready to get his snow boots on and go exploring with me. Amazing how many things we can find to do that are free and fun!
